Welcome

About us

DCRA is the collective voice for retailers in the Darwin CBD. Initially formed in 2014 by a core group of locally invested business owners, we continue to support activities that define Darwin city as a shopping, dining and entertainment precinct.

DCRA’s activities are guided by a volunteer Committee and executed by a part time General Manager. Our Committee is made up of passionate, committed Darwin CBD business owners, who understand the importance of working together to advocate for and support both local retailers and our beautiful city of Darwin.

Adriana Dent

Albertini

chair

Adriana Dent, a former fashion lecturer at Charles Darwin University, transformed her passion for design and education into a thriving fashion label—Albertini. What began in a modest demountable studio at her home has grown into a well-recognized brand with a stylish storefront in Carpentaria House on Cavenagh Street, where she’s been based since 2018.

Albertini is celebrated for its distinctive formalwear, blending elegance with bold design. Over time, Adriana has expanded the label to include a casualwear range, offering versatile pieces that reflect her signature style and attention to detail.

Beyond design, Adriana is deeply committed to mentorship. She takes pride in training her staff on the job, sharing her extensive industry knowledge and fostering the next generation of fashion professionals. Her hands-on approach and dedication to skill-building have become a hallmark of the Albertini brand.

With a prime street-front location and a growing reputation, Albertini continues to be a standout in Darwin’s fashion scene—where creativity, craftsmanship, and community come together.

Phil Coleman

For the last decade, Phil and his partner have proudly owned and operated McDonald’s Darwin Central and Stuart Park, becoming a cornerstone of the local community. Since opening their doors in 2015, they’ve cultivated a loyal customer base, many of whom visit daily or weekly and have become familiar faces to the crew and managers.

Their commitment to quality service, consistency, and community engagement has helped shape their restaurants into more than just places to eat—they’re places where relationships are built. Staff members know regulars by name, and the welcoming atmosphere reflects the sense of connection Phil and his team have fostered.

Darwin has proven to be a vibrant and supportive environment for business. Over the years, Phil and his partner have developed close ties with fellow local business owners, many of whom have become good friends.

Today, The Harvest Press thrives in a vibrant central Knuckey Street location, offering fresh juices, wholesome meals, and a welcoming atmosphere with both indoor and breezy outdoor seating facing Rain Tree Park. The café is known for its commitment to locally sourced produce, sustainability, and community education around the benefits of juicing.

In 2022, The Harvest Press won the People’s Choice Award at the Darwin International Laksa Festival for its innovative Laksa Smoothie Bowl, showcasing Marian’s creativity and connection to local culture.

With a growing customer base and a thriving catering arm, Marian continues to inspire as a business owner who turned a dream into a Darwin success story.
